How Far Can $1.50 A Day on Google Ads Take You?

Advertising, for just about any business, is necessary these days. For many companies, Digital Advertising is the key to growth and sales. When it comes to navigating the internet Google is still the king of searches, owning an 82% share of all Digital Searches in 2023. It almost goes without saying that being at the top of a relative Google search can lead to massive website traffic and a large increase in sales. Since it’s hard for any newcomer to make it to the top of search result list on their own, Google allows you to pay for that coveted top spot.

But then the big question becomes: “How much do I need to spend on Google to get the right results?”

The answer? It depends. It’s different for every businesses. But we can help give you a feel for a bottom line.

The Setup

Here at Daily Click Marketing, we tried an experiment, where for two months we only spent $1.50 a day to advertise our website. Keep in mind that we didn’t do any outside advertising before or during this time period, we just optimized our website for good SEO practices.

For our setup, we had two different campaigns: A Search Campaign (Focused on relative keywords) and a Display Campaign (Image Focused ads, scattered on Googles Advertising network.). We gave each our Search Campaign $0.50 a day, and our Display Campaign $1.00 to play with.

The Results

Let’s break down our results for the two different Campaigns

For our Search Campaign:

  • 64 Impressions (Where our search results appeared in the first two results of a Google Search)
  • 3 Clicks (Someone clicking our link to go to our website)
  • 1 Conversion (A potential client filled out our form, asking for our services.)

For our Display Campaign:

  • 102,655 Impressions
  • 31 clicks
  • 2 Conversions

That’s not bad for only spending $34.18 to get 3 new leads.

What We Did Differently

In setting up these campaigns, we made it very clear who and where we were targeting to stretch these campaigns as far as possible.

We made sure to only target the wealthy areas of a very large & densely concentrated metro area. To help ensure that our ads were only shown to people in this area, we negatively targeted all other surrounding areas, states and nations.

Along with this, we made sure that our ad copy not only fit with the geography of the area (such as using the city name where appropriate) but also fit in with our keywords that targeted businesses in the area.

We also tried to evoke emotion in our ad copy, whether it was in the text on the Search Ad or in the mage presented in our Display ads. Evoking a sense of fulfillment and hope seemed to help our ads get more clicks than simply telling them what we are about.

There are a few other tips and tricks we used, but a good marketer doesn’t reveal all his secrets.

The Verdict

Ultimately, $1.50 a day on Google Ads can bring in more website traffic and take your business farther than we originally thought. It would also appear that spending some money on Google Ads is much better than nothing, if handled right.

But this is just the beginning of what Google Ads can do for a business. So if you’re still on the fence about Google Ads, and want to talk with an agency that can stretch your ad dollars farther than any other, reach out to Daily Click Marketing and we can get started together today.
